Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Galeworks (“we,” “us,” the “Publisher”) governing your use of the Roundtrip Returns iOS app and the Roundtrip backend service (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.
1. What Roundtrip is (and isn’t)
Roundtrip is a personal organizer that helps you keep track of items you may want to return and their return deadlines. It is an informational and organizational tool only.
- Roundtrip is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any retailer, brand, or merchant.
- Roundtrip does not process returns, refunds, payments, or shipping. When you start a return, the App hands you off to the retailer’s own website, where the retailer’s terms and processes apply.
- Return-window information shown in the App is general reference information and may be incomplete, outdated, or inapplicable to your specific item or purchase.
- The email-forwarding feature is an organizational convenience. It is not a guarantee that every receipt you forward will be parsed correctly or that every parsed return will be created on time.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. Some features (email forwarding, sync) require an account, which is created using Sign in with Apple. You’re responsible for safeguarding access to the Apple ID associated with your account. You may use the App without an account for manual entry only.
3. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- The accuracy of the information you enter or forward.
- Verifying actual return eligibility and deadlines directly with the retailer before relying on them. Policies vary by item, condition, promotion, and change without notice.
- Completing any return yourself through the retailer’s own process.
- Setting up, maintaining, and removing any forwarding filter rules inside your own email client. We do not configure your inbox; we only receive what arrives at your alias.
Roundtrip’s reminders, deadlines, and parsed records are conveniences, not guarantees. You are solely responsible for meeting any return window.
4. Email forwarding — acceptable use
When you enable forwarding, we issue you a private email alias (e.g. u-7gk4q2@roundtripreturns.app). You agree:
- The alias is for your personal, non-commercial use only.
- You will only forward (or auto-forward via a filter you own) emails sent to you — primarily order confirmations, shipping notifications, and receipts.
- You will not publish your alias publicly, use it as a spam-collection honeypot, or forward third parties’ email to it.
- You will not forward email that contains the personal data of others beyond what’s normal in a routine retailer receipt.
- We may rate-limit, suspend, or rotate your alias if it is being abused (e.g. receiving high volumes of spam).
- If you stop using the Service, your alias is retired permanently and not reassigned.
5. Subscriptions, free trial, and billing
The email-forwarding feature may be offered as a paid subscription in a future version. Manual entry of returns will always remain free of charge.
When paid tiers are introduced, the specific subscription, trial terms, pricing, billing, auto-renewal, cancellation, refund handling, and price-change notification policies will be disclosed within the app and on this page before charges are made.
6. License
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple-branded devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, redistribute, or attempt to extract source code from the App or Service except as permitted by law.
7. Your data
The Service stores information you add on your device and, if you’re signed in, on our servers. Our handling of information is described in our Privacy Policy. You can export your data at any time and permanently delete your account from within the App (Settings → Delete account & data).
8. Sub-processors and third-party services
We rely on third-party providers (including Apple, Cloudflare, Supabase, and Anthropic) to operate the Service. Their use of your data is governed by their own terms and our agreements with them. See the Privacy Policy for the current list.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant:
- That return-policy information is accurate, current, or complete.
- That every reminder will be delivered.
- That every forwarded email will be parsed correctly, parsed at all, or parsed within any specific timeframe.
- That the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
The Service does not provide legal, financial, tax, or professional advice.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE PUBLISHER WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM:
- A missed return window;
- A denied return or refund by a retailer;
- Inaccurate or outdated policy information;
- An undelivered reminder or push notification;
- A forwarded email that was not parsed, was parsed incorrectly, or was parsed late;
- Service downtime, data loss, or security incident;
whether based on warranty, contract, tort, or any other legal theory, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the total subscription fees you paid in the prior 12 months or (b) USD $20.
Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
11. Third-party retailers and websites
The Service links to retailers’ own websites for completing returns. We are not responsible for those websites, their content, their policies, or any transaction you make with them. Your dealings with any retailer are solely between you and that retailer.
12. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may update, change, or discontinue the Service or any feature at any time. We may revise these Terms; material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date and providing at least 30 days’ notice in-app before they take effect. Continued use after a material change means you accept the revised Terms. If you don’t accept, stop using the Service before the change takes effect.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (Settings → Delete account & data). We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms — in particular, the acceptable-use provisions in Section 4. We will, where reasonable, give you advance notice and a chance to cure. If we terminate for cause, your right to a refund (if any) is governed by Apple’s standard refund policies.
Upon termination, your server-side data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy. Manual returns stored locally on your device remain on your device until you delete the App.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Washington, USA, except where local consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
15. Apple App Store
These Terms are between you and the Publisher only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content. To the extent there is any conflict between these Terms and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions or Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (“Apple Standard EULA”), the Apple Standard EULA governs solely with respect to that conflict.
You acknowledge that:
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
- In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the App, including product-liability, legal/regulatory, or consumer-protection claims.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
- You represent that you are not located in a U.S.-embargoed country or on a U.S. prohibited-parties list, and that you will comply with applicable export laws.
